Styled based on inspiration from the legendary Seelbach Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, this stool attempts to recreate some of the intoxicating glamour of Prohibition-era America, when traditional get-togethers took on an element of danger as well as delight (they didn’t call it “the roaring 20s” for nothing!). Its ancestors would have supported the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald – whose partying days at the Seelbach Hotel reportedly helped bring The Great Gatsby to life – and witnessed many pre-war celebrations that lasted till dawn.
With extra-wide seating the colour of cognac and details reminiscent of French Beaux-Arts design, the Seelbach bar stool features just the right amount of excess without seeming overdone.
