Our signature finish, Hand-rubbed Antique Brass is a rich, warm gold. Pure brass is polished and burnished by hand to achieve a natural patina. Wax is applied to protect the finish from damage. This finish will continue to patina, and will not resist corrosion from exposure to the elements, most household chemicals, or oil from our skin. After assembly and installation, lightly wipe with a soft, dry cotton cloth to remove any chemicals or oils transferred during handling. Wax may be applied to protect from further patina.
Nickel is plated onto a mirror-polished base metal, usually brass. Polished Nickel is generally uncoated, and not intended to patina. This finish will not resist corrosion from exposure to the elements or most household chemicals. Can be polished with many common metal polishes.
